Pre-Law Advising

Political Science is one of the majors that a prospective law student may choose. As the Association of American Law Schools has commented, a pre-legal education cannot be met by suggesting specific courses. It is essential for the pre-law student to develop basic skills and insights. This involves education for "comprehension and expression in words; critical understanding of human institutions and values with which the law deals; creative power in thinking. Therefore, what the law schools seek in their entering students is the capacity to think for themselves, and the ability to express their thoughts with clarity and force." All students who plan to apply to law school should register at the Pre-Law Office with Frank Goetz, Room 101a Monteith (phone number: 486-5333). Frank Goetz provides Pre-Law counseling on academic programs, LSAT Test, LSDAS services, test scores and careers in law. Applications for LSAT/LSDAS are available in MONT 101a.
