Honors Classes and Conversions

Students can earn honors credits by enrolling in sections designated as honors sections, converting a non-honors class to an honors class, or completing a graduate seminar.  Students must earn at least a B- in the class in order to earn honors credit.

Political Science makes an effort to offer several honors sections at the 100 level each year, and whenever possible we offer an honors section at the 200 level.  Members of the Political Science faculty are usually open helping individual students or groups of students convert classes for honors credits.  Students should contact individual professors at the start of the semester to discuss different ways of converting classes.  Whenever possible, students should seek to convert classes with members of the full time faculty rather than graduate students or adjunct professors. 

Once a student has arranged an honors conversion with an individual instructor the student needs to complete an honors conversion form.  The form needs to be signed by the class instructor and then by your individual honors advisor.  Your honors advisor cannot sign a form until it is completed and signed by the instructor.

Students enrolled in a designated honors section or a graduate seminar do not need to complete a conversion form.
